Chuck holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M, and a master’s degree in information systems from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, was the co-founder of IntelliSecure and has held senior leadership positions with many large communications and technology companies, including Kit Carson Rural Electric Cooperative, Productive Data Systems, TicketMaster, and USA.net. Chuck has had extensive exposure to complex computing environments with vast global operations requiring a combination of business process mapping and advanced technical applications. He excels in information and network security project design and development, network and application integration and project management, and global help desk design and operations.

Trevon leads all SWORD™ software design and mobile application architecture and engineering work including the proprietary KnightScan™ and ShieldScan™ feature functionalities of SWORD.
Sam leads all electrical design engineering for SWORD. He is very experienced in RF, consumer electronics and embedded systems engineering and forms an integral part of the technical team.
Francis leads the mmWave engineering for SWORD™. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from UCI in 2014. His research in the Nanoscale Communications Integrated Circuits Lab at UCI focused on silicon-based millimeter-wave and sub-millimeter-wave circuits and systems-on-chip at frequencies from 5GHz up to 500GHz. His research here led to the first completely integrated silicon imaging receiver to demonstrate a measurable NETD sensitive enough for passive imaging systems. It was also the biggest RF/MMW chip designed to date by the lab, a 6mm x 6mm area-efficient beam-steerable sub-terahertz imaging receiver array. In addition to silicon-based imaging systems, his research also included investigation into silicon-based power-efficient sub-terahertz radiators, along with the development of a novel complementary mixer. He holds two patents and is the co-author of several papers.
Prof Heydari is the lead consultant on mmWave and threat detection integration for SWORD™.
He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees, with honors, in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 1992 and 1995, respectively. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in 2001. He is currently a professor of electrical engineering at the University of California, Irvine. A recipient of the Distinguished Engineering Educator Award from Orange County Engineering Council, Heyari was also named one of 10 Outstanding Innovators by the UCI Office of Technology Alliances. He is the co-recipient of the UCI 2009 Business Plan Competition First Place Award and Best Concept Paper Award, both from the Paul Merage School of Business. Other awards include the 2010 Faculty of the Year Award from UCI Engineering Student Council (ECS); the 2009 School of Engineering Best Faculty Research Award; the 2007 IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Guillemin-Cauer Award; the 2005 IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Darlington Award; the 2005 National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award; the 2005 Henry Samueli School of Engineering Teaching Excellence Award; the Best Paper Award at the 2000 IEEE Int'l Conference on Computer Design (ICCD); and the 2001 Technical Excellence Award from the Association of Professors and Scholars of Iranian Heritage (APSIH). Additionally, Heydari was recognized as the 2004 Outstanding Faculty in UCI’s electrical engineering and computer science department. His research on novel low-power multipurpose multi-antenna RF front-ends received the Low-Power Design Contest Award at the 2008 IEEE International Symposium on Low-Power Electronics and Design (ISLPED).
Heydari is currently a member of the Technical Program Committee of the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), an associate editor for the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Letters (SSC-L), and a member of AdCom for the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society. He has served as the guest editor of the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC), associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems - I, and as a member of the Technical Program Committees of Compound Semiconductor IC Symposium (CSICS), Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (CICC) and ISLPED. He also has served on the Technical Program Committees of and the Int'l Symposium on Quality Electronic Design (ISQED), IEEE Design and Test in Europe (DATE) and International Symposium on Physical Design (ISPD).
Heydari, director of UCI’s Nanoscale Communication IC (NCIC) Labs, is an IEEE Fellow for contributions to silicon-based millimeter-wave integrated circuits and systems.
